Fort Wayne Heathens

Heathen/Ásatrú Community of Fort Wayne and Northeast Indiana

Our Community Outreach Programs and Resources

This program helps veteran Heathens in Indiana get free resources on VA information, Ásatrú information, networking assistance with local Ásatrúars and heathens, and a free Mjölnir pendant. All you have to do is fill out the form, verify that you have served in the US armed forces, and we'll mail you a package via the USPS. Veterans have earned this when they chose to risk their lives defending and insuring this country's freedom.

The project is meant to ensure that there is an up to date and reliable list of Indiana Kindreds. This was done in the hopes that Ásatrúar who have thought they were alone in their beliefs, can come together and forge bonds of kinship with other Hoosiers who are true to the Æsir and the Vanir.

Ongoing Classes

Fort Wayne Heathens hosts a Lore Night class over the Poetic Edda and other subjects of literature that progress the knowledge of Heathenry. We meet every second Saturday evening at a local coffee house, and go over the study materials. We have handouts of the same translation of the Poetic Edda that we discuss as a group.

We also have a more private and focused study group dedicated to the study of the runes hosted by our current
Gyðja, Jessica. This is hosted in New Haven, Indiana on the last Saturday of each month.

Our other classes are our drinking horn classes which are held every few months so that new members can have their own drinking horn for rituals or just to drink out of. The only thing they need to provide is a raw steer horn from Tandy Leather which is located in here in Fort Wayne. Sandpaper and beeswax is usually provided.
